PESKY WEEDS OR BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS

The only flowers that bloom here naturally at my house are dandelions. My yard is full of them. I hate dandelions and I'm not particularly fond of the color yellow. Yet, they are kind of pretty if you look at them a little closer. Don't you think? And you happen to love weeds. Unfortunately I'm allergic to the chemicals that have to be used to kill them so I just learn to live with them. I only wish my yard was ablaze with buttercups instead. Remember them? Now there was something pretty and yellow.

After the winter we have had even dandelions look good plus you have them everywhere. All I have is brown grass with green sprigs popping up.

I have never been much of a lawn person, every yard we have had consisted of three of four different greens, I think mostly weeds. When I would build I always planted Kentucky Fescue, then it went awry from there.

I accept the dandelion as part of our yard, I think. Of course I never mowed round them. LOL

(Good fun read, 'cept the allergies!)

I admire the little dandelion - cheery and very pretty if you really look at it. If it were rare, I think it would be sought after.
Just my thoughts,

I like dandelions. Used to love it when my kids would bring me bouquets of them. We used to make chains with the stems.

I can't remember seeing a buttercup in years. Whatever happened to them?

I love dandelions. They so old fashioned and are the only thing that grows for me. I've told my kids I want dandelions on top of my casket.

Here we are over run with sunflowers. Not the big kind the smaller ones. The farmers and ranchers mow them down because they sap the moisture from the grass which the cows eat.

I love dandelions, too. I've never really understood that (insane) drive to have the perfect lawn. And I love the previous comment about dandelions on a casket... beautifully natural.

Weed, I spread weed & feed or weed and pest control at the first sign. It works all season.

It's so nice that you see beauty even in the dandelions. My post today reminds me of you.

I have never minded dandelions and have always thought of them as being pretty and perky.

I would think they were pretty flowers if they didn't scatter all over the place. If there weren't 5 billion of them in our yard, I would go out there and dig each one out.
