OUR NEW REALITY
Let's flatten that curve
so we can stop the spread
of this virus.
Do NOT expose others to germs
if you have a cough or the sniffles.
NOW is a good opportunity to catch up
with friends and family.
If you have to go out
go the grocery store
or anywhere the state says you
are permited.
VIRTUAL ONES ARE BEST
Don't let the little things
rile you up
Take time to sit down and relax
for a few minutes each day
And remember, as my mother-in-law
used to say,
"THIS TOO SHALL PASS"

FIND SOLACE IN YOUR HOME AND FAMILY
DURING THESE TRYING TIMES.
KEEP CALM
TAKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
AND REMEMBER WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT
PS) In the big scheme of things, it isn't toilet paper.

Binge Watching The History Channel
It
was a day to sit back, relax, and not do anything stressful. I got myself a
nice big mug of ice water with a lemon slice and hunkered down on the sofa to
binge watch a show from the History Channel called Ancient Aliens. I had taped
14 episodes. Each was an hour long. So I dug in. This series appeals to me because the premise is... that astronauts from somewhere outside our solar system visited Earth and our ancestors, centuries ago. Civilizations around the
globe, including Native American people and Egyptians, all have oral and
written histories that talk about the Star People who created and visited them,
imparting knowledge and wisdom about math, science, astronomy, architecture, etc. Once
upon a time, I intended to travel the world, as an archeologist, and uncover such
mysteries of the past. But my life didn’t go as planned and those dreams fell
by the wayside. However, as a little girl, I saw a UFO with my parents along a
dark country road. It left an impression I will never forget. For years, I’ve strongly believed that misunderstood
technology, explains a lot of things our ancestors saw as miraculous. As our
country gets ready to put men and women on the planet Mars... earthlings become
the extraterrestrials. So is it... that inconceivable... that astronauts
from other star systems, once stopped here, to explore our planet during the Earth’s infancy?

SPRING AND FRESH FRUIT
Was excited
to get out and about.Weather warmed up to 50 degrees. Got me in the mood
for spring and some fresh fruit. I don’t get near enough in my diet during the
winter months because the cost is prohibitive. But the truth is… I absolutely
love fruit. Mangos, berries, watermelon…
you name it, I probably like it.
Everything except kiwi and honeydew melon. For some reason they don’t sit well
with me. Don’t know why? Anyway, I was thrilled to catch a big sale on
raspberries and blackberries, at the supermarket. Cartons were 5 for $5 or $1 a
piece. I got ten. Well worth the price, in my humble opinion. I will eat a
ramekin full, for breakfast every morning with my cauliflower. The perfect way
to start the day. Do you love fresh fruit? Or hate it? My husband refuses to
eat it under any circumstances.

ABSENTMINDED OR SOMETHING ELSE?
My
husband eats soup more than a couple times a week. I’m not particularly fond of soup. I like New
England Clam Chowder, Manhattan Clam Chowder, Tomato soup doctored up with
parmesan cheese and pesto, French Onion soup, Chicken Lemon soup, and Chicken Gnocchi.
That’s it. For the past couple weeks something’s been working on us. The week
before last it finally hit us. We were sick. Fevers with chills. So we drank
lots of fluids , took plenty of vitamin C, and you guessed it, ate soup.
During this time I had an incident at the dinner table, that .frightened
me on the one hand, and made me smile on the other. Here goes. I had in front of me, my bowl of
Chicken Gnocchi soup, and a container of Raspberry yogurt. I was alternating
from one to the other. Then between bites, I found myself blowing on the
spoonful of soup, with every mouthful, because it was steaming hot. The yogurt
obviously was not. However, at one
point, while talking to my husband, I found myself blowing on my spoon and thought, ‘oh no’ when
I suddenly realized I was actually blowing on the cold yogurt and not the soup.
I instantly felt stupid. How could I make such an obvious mistake? Was I getting Alzheimer’s or dementia? My
husband looked over at me and I told him what happened. He burst out laughing.
We have so little to laugh about these days, and it was rare to see him so
jovial. And before I could help myself, I too was laughing. We both had tears
rolling down our cheeks. Probably not all that funny to you. But to us, it gave
levity to the moment, and having to deal with all our health problems.
Unfortunately it also got me thinking about growing older and wondering what
other absentminded things I might do, as time wears on? Perhaps I’m reading too
much into this? Maybe I was simply trying to multi-task and the situation got
out of hand? On the other hand, confusing yogurt and soup is not an ordinary
occurrence. Should I be worried? Is this part of a bigger cause and effect? Or
has something like this, ever happened to you?
