I know the country at large
is in a deep freeze. But we are in a repetitive weather pattern in my neck of
the woods. It's been going on for a month. Every couple days we get another Alberta Clipper System from the north
bringing 1-4 inches of snow and then this arctic blast of cooler temperatures.
The monotony of this happening is getting old. I keep hoping for a break in the
weather and none seems forthcoming.
Needless to say... I'm getting a little cabin fever. And I'm longing to
feel a little warmth creep into the forecast. Where would I have to travel to
find it? Unfortunately two more Clippers are predicted for this week and next
week is supposed to get worse. With temps in the single and negative digits...
nothing to do but hunker down and get comfortable. Staying warm is the name of
the game. So I've got my Kindle and Nook charged so I can read. And I have an
18 pack bundle of chai tea for the Keurig to warm my insides. And if all that weren't enough... I'm also day dreaming about summer. What do you do
when the weather just won't cooperate??

That does seem like a monontonous pattern with your weather. I think you have to go south to escape it; we've had picture perfect weather this January but the downside is no rain, so we are in a drought and possible water rationing come summer.
I think you are doing the best thing, trying to take it one day at a time and being prepared with good books and warm tea!
betty
We're 32 degrees here in south Texas and that is cold for us. By Sunday it is supposed to be back up in the 70's. It's drizzle so they are expecting bad roads in the morning. Most Schools are starting two hours later. Aren't we a bunch of sissies? Stay warm.
Day dreaming about summer is a wonderful idea, but when it comes I'll be complaining about the heat.
Right now it's 3:00 a.m. here in west Texas and 4 (four) degrees!
I'm too damn cold to do any dreaming at all.....
Your weather is just about like mine here, I didn't even warm up when shoveling a bit of snow the other day. Truthfully it is too cold to go out, but I went looking for a little spring at the craft stores yesterday. They really didn't have what I was looking for but I bought some fake spring flowers anyway. They are now in a vase sitting on the entertainment center. This has been a bad month with record breaking lows but they said on the news last night that winter is now half over. That is a good thought.
Even in Florida, we are near and below the freezing point. We just hang loose in the motor home, play games on the monitors and GET out and walk a couple miles.
Just around the corner is WARM AIR (They say!) smile!
All we can do is put on layers of clothes, keep the fireplace going strong and wait it out. I have my Kindle too and go to it for comfort.
this sub zero weather is getting a bit boring! and this is from me who loves winter!
Stay warm and cosy x
This cold, cold winter is getting old, old, old!! I think about all the stuff I should be doing, such as closet cleaning, and know when warmer weather finally arrives, I'll regret not getting it done. Story of my life. :)
I have to tell you that I am glad I am in the south!!!!!!! Stay warm.
I am also dreaming of Summer. I am in the south, but that doesn't mean much right now..lol. Stay under covers, read and sip your tea. DD
Hahaha, I love your little Gnomes. I can see where you would be getting cabin fever, but I look at this picture of the snow, and it is so beautiful to me. I don't get to see the snow that often where I live, so I love getting a glimpse of it through my blog friends like you. Stay warm this weekend and bundle up. Chai Tea is Nel's favorite too. I am into Green tea lately.
Have a nice weekend, Taryterre.
Love,
~Sheri
Looking forward to spring! Keep warm!
Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Love your gnomes. I'm reading, cooking, drinking cocoa and tea and racing out the minute the temperature is over twenty. I'm really trying not to wish the winter away, but this is getting old. I'm starting to fantasize about spring. May buy a bouquet of flowers. Nothing fancy, just need something springy in the house.
Yep daydreams about summer really help.
So does jumping up and down and screaming I HATE THIS WEATHER!!!!!!!
I NEED spring! It not even the end of January and I am already thinking of tulips and daffodils and Cadbury eggs.
