Our mattress
is over 20 years old. GASP! We definitely need a new one. It’s just a question
of saving enough money. In the meantime we try to make ourselves comfortable in
bed with the right pillows. Until rather recently we would get them at Walmart.
For $15 we would get the extra firm generic pillows. It took two of them
stacked up to suit our needs. But even
then they weren’t doing the job. So we began searching for an alternative. And
we found a couple at the mattress store that were perfect. They fit our heads like
a glove. The only problem was the price. We were willing to pay thirty bucks, but
no more. One of these perfect pillows was marked $200
and the other was $80. Way out of our league. But they gave us an idea, of what
could work for us, if money were no object. Both of these pillows resembled
sandbags and they were heavy and are made with memory foam. So we set our
sights for these kind of pillows but more affordable. Nothing to be found
locally. But we did see them online at QVC.com and Amazon. They were pillows by
Lori Greiner one of the sharks from the CNBC show Shark Tank. She’s an inventor
too. She invented a better pillow. We were intrigued. The price was right and the risk
minimal. At QVC you have 30 days to try an item with a money back guarantee. A
better deal than Amazon. The cost was $25 a piece. Or two for $50. So we figured we
had nothing to lose and ordered them. Best
nights sleep ever. We absolutely love them. What kind of pillows do you like?

Yayyyyy for comfortable pillows!! My husband, daughter & I all have a "My Pillow" and oh my word, are they ever comfortable. Best night's sleep we've ever had, just like the commercials say. There's nothing like a good pillow for a good night's sleep, eh? So glad you found your magical one. Not too thick and not too thin but Juuust right. I've been tempted to order some "My Pillow" and now maybe I will after reading the above comment. Glad you found your right ones.
I love the cheap, thin, flimsy ones. Hubby makes fun of my pillow choice, but I love them. I just don't think the thick, firm ones are comfortable at all.

I'm sure my pillows are foam filled of some kind but not sure. I do have memory foam mattress topper that makes my old matters feel line a new one. For around 89 dollars it does the trick when placed on top the mattress.
I like just a little more than nothing. I prefer about 1-2 inches at best. My wife prefers much more pillow.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure! :) Our pillows are so olden and lumpy I doubt even the Humane Society would accept them. Most of the time I sleep with two, the top one scrunched under my neck. I don't know much about QVC, but I'm definitely going to order these once we get moved.
PS - I've another blog friend who experiences sleep difficulties. Stacy recently order the "My Pillow" but said not only was it $$$ but felt awful.
Quality pillows are important for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately I always buy the cheap ones - - which is undoubtedly why I haven't had a good night's sleep in thirty years.
I like my head to be elevated, so I always use at least two pillows, but preferably three.

BTW - if I ever paid $200 for a pillow it would have to include a bed...and a room to go around it.
I like a cheap pillow that gets thin and lumpy. Then, I can fold it up and push it into the shape I want. I like nothing to touch my face when on my back or on my side. I have had nice pillows that wrap around my head when I like on my back and smother me when I lie on my side. I know a guy who hates My Pillow. He is the only person I know who has one.
I'm glad you found some pillows that suit you, Taryterre. I really don't spend that much on pillows, but I've been wanting to get a new one, as the one I have is getting flat. The pillows you bought sound just right, and what could be better than a good night's sleep? I may have to look into that. : )

I've been using a "Cervical" pillow that was around 35.00 and it works well. The thin ones stopped working awhile ago for me. I'll be on the lookout for the ones you recommend.
I need some new pillows. I like to sleep with my head elevated a bit so I usually sleep on two pillows but don't like anything too firm. It is hard to find a perfect pillow, I think. Glad you found what you needed at a nice price.
Oh, so glad you found pillows you love, Taryterre. I bought one from Pacific Northwest (or a company with a similar name) and I love it. We just recently bought a new mattress. Like you, we will use one for years until we absolutely have to get another one. Ours stay clean but eventually will start wearing out the compfort.
The price of pillows are outragious! I sleep on a “bamboo” pillow and love it. However, its time for me to get a new one. I shop the bargin stores for the best prices.
