A CHANGE OF PLANS

As predicted…  it snowed a little bit here yesterday and the day before. We are expecting more today and tomorrow. I had hoped to ride down to the lake to drain my brain and find some solace. But instead stayed put here at home. My hubby promises me... we’ll go there soon. The Baker’s Cyst behind one of my knees ruptured last week and walking has been difficult at best. I have had to use a four footed cane to shuffle around. They say the fluid will be absorbed by my body. I’m supposed to ice it. Stay in bed, and rest. If it’s not better in a week…  I head to the doctor,  get an MRI and they’ll have a look see. I’ve had a string of bad luck recently… and felt getting the heck out of the house… is just what I needed. But, as long as snow is falling on and off, getting out on the hwy, probably isn’t a good idea. Too slippery. Black ice could pop up at any time, anywhere.  So I’ll vegetate here for now. Find a good book on one of  my shelves and dive in. Nothing too deep.  Maybe some ‘chic-lit’  from one of the UK or Scottish authors I usually like around the holidays…  with some sappy story to lighten my mood. Cuddled up in a Life Is Good blanket. A cup of hot African Autumn tea by my side.  Just thinking about it…  is making me feel better already.  Do you make time to read or just forgo it’s pleasures?

That snow looks so beautiful! However, t's been so many years, I'd be terrified to try and drive in it again. (And you and other residents said, "Thank you!" LOL.)
I'm not a fan of tea, but have recently re-discovered the enjoyment that comes from a good book.
Please! Let us know how it goes with your knee.

We haven't been around snow for a long time now, but can still remember the time in Missouri on the Iowa border and yep better to dive into a book. Sorry about the cyst rupture, OUCH! I do hope as you read the book and hibernate, it will heal itself..
Thinking of you.

Hope that the rest and icing will help your knee cyst and a good read and cup of tea sound like a great remedy to me. Yes, I have been making time to read and also listen to audiobooks, all of which are downloaded from the locL library which remains closed (sigh). The snow was nice to see in that here in NH where I live it’s been only rain in recent storms. I am hoping for at least one big snowfall before winter ends. Hopefully, you can take your day trip another day.

I've read more books this year than every before. They get me away from all the stress of staying in so much. Books take us away! Rest and get better !

I have been wanting to get back to reading. I'm so sorry to hear about your knee, that sounds painful. That's too bad you couldn't take a drive to the lake because of the snow. Get some rest, Taryterre. A good book or a good movie snuggled in a warm blanket with your Autumn tea sounds like just the right thing. : )

Keep cozy and prayers that your knee recovers quickly. I'm enjoying watching Bridgerton on Netflix and it's making these cold winter days (and long nights) much more fun. Higly recommend it.

I am glad we don't have to deal with ice and snow around here so we can take a ride each day.

I'm already tired of winter. I guess at this stage of my life I need to be in Florida or south Texas! I'd miss Missouri, though, so that's not going to happen. I find myself wanting to get out and go somewhere too.
