ARMCHAIR TRAVELER & GOOD FOOD

Mothers Day was low key. On Saturday we took my daughter and our granddaughter  with us to the Asian Buffet out of town. It’s quite a trek to get there. BUT definitely worth the trip. It is a lovely place. SERENE music plays in the background amidst decor that delights an armchair traveler. Buddha, Terra Cotta figures, an unusual wood fountain, flying lions and wall of hieroglyphics are featured inside and outside the restaurant.

The food was yummy too. My favorite house specialty, the stuffed shrimp, was in plentiful supply, though I helped lighten the load considerably.

After eating our daughter headed to do some birthday shopping for our grandson who was away at boy scout camp and couldn’t join us. My hubby then drove me to the local thrift store where I had a blast looking for some bargains, but ultimately left empty handed. Though my daughter had given me a pretty pot of annual flowers to take home.

Sunday we slept in and my husband cooked me a steamed lobster with butter for the holiday. It was sweet and delicious and I enjoyed every bite.

And was thrilled to also receive a bottle of my favorite perfume, Alien.
It smells outta of this world.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful Mothers Day. I smiled when I seen your food plates. Only a blogger would make them look so pretty! Haha. I love Asian buffets. I have never had lobster but I know Id like it. I love crab legs and all other shell fish. Ive just never knew how to cook lobster or afford it. Ha. Have a great day!

Glad you enjoyed a great Mothers Day Weekend! That lobster tail looks really good. One of my favorites but also one I rarely get.

I too am glad youhad a great mother's day. Thanks for taking us along, I love Asian food. It is sad I do not know what I am eating most of the time but I VERY SELDOM have picked something that did not tickle my pallet. Good entry.
It was nice to see the alert!

THE ONLY CONTACT I HAD ON MOTHER'S DAY WAS WHEN I WENT TO MY DAUGHTER'S FB PAGE IN HOPES. SHE HAD A VENOMOUS ATTACK WRITTEN AGAINST HER 'BAT-SHIT MOTHER'. WE'RE ALREADY MAKING PLANS FOR DECEMBER! HOPING I CAN REPAIR FROM MY FEB SURGERY BY XMAS SO WE CAN SPEND THAT TIME ELSEWHERE, WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE NO FAMILY. THAT WOULD BE A NURSING HOME OR A CASINO. I HOPE IT'S THE LATTER. LOL SORRY FOR THE CAPS, BUT MY RIGHT HAND CAN'T ASSIST WITH MANIPULATING THE KEYS.

Flowers is one of the best presents one can get, Taryterre. So thoughtful of your daughter to give you these. The food looks Yummy, and what a fun atmosphere. I've been craving Asian food lately, and now I really want to go. That was nice of your husband to make you lobster and butter...sounds delicious. The perfume was a nice gift as well. I've never smelled Alien before - now I'm curious. : )

Glad you had a nice Mother's Day, Taryterre.

love, ~Sheri

Hi Terre, looks like you had a splendid day! I would have loved the stuffed shrimp, too. I adore all seafood. Heck, I adore food, period. lol! I've never heard of your perfume...I'll have to check it out!

Oh how good that food looks. My favorite... both food *and* atmosphere!! :) Our Mother's Day was "low key" too, although "non-existent" is probably the term I'd use for mine. *lol* But that's ok. My motherhood status is secure despite. :)

Blessings~ Andrea

Yay! So glad to learn your loves celebrated you this way. (Food = equals LOVE, to me anyway.)
That Asian bistro sounds like a perfect venue for unhurried, conversation-friendly meal. Too bad so many places these days are all about loud music and turning tables.
