FLORAL DESIGN REAL OR FAUX?

I went to school for floral design once upon a time. I became an expert in all things silk. I learned to work with faux flowers and plants and came to love them almost as much as the real deal. To this day I still have a tendency to use them more often than not. Case in point, autumn decorations. Outside I use the real flowers, but inside I prefer faux... less mess. Last year we had somebody clean out our garage and all my fall arrangements, wreathes, etc.  disappeared. Accidently thrown out.  I was upset, to say the least. So I am replacing things slowly.  I started with a singular pumpkin and vine of leaves. And it has filled me with absolute delight. Do you find big or small things bring you the most joy? And do you prefer real or faux flowers?

I don't do much decorating, but on the occasions I do get flowers, I do like the real ones, It is a great art to design flowers, glad you got a bot of experience doing so.

Faux here, please! Having your supplies being pitched out had to hurt your heart.
How I wish you lived closer, so I might buy a pretty autumn wreath from you for our front entry.

I love your pumpkin and vine of leaves. It's simple with the pretty colors of Fall. I like real flowers, but I also like silk flowers in the house here and there. And I would have more, only I don't create arrangements like you do. That is such a talent. That's too bad that all your Fall decorations were accidentally thrown out. But it allows you get some new things along the way, which will ne nice. : )

I meant to say Faux for me, but at times I do love to smell the real thing. ;-)

I do like the real thing mostly but I guess I'm weird I don't really care for receiving flowers for holidays. I would rather see them growing then in a vase. You do have a talent and that must have broken your heart to lose those to a cleaning person.

I used to love working with flowers and designed wreaths and swags, etc. to sell when I had a small craft shop. I used faux flowers and love them. For a table arrangement, I love fresh flowers or gather a bouquet out of my garden. So sorry you lost all your supplies.

I like both real and faux. But id rather spend money on faux so I can reuse them year after year.
This reminded me of a time we were moving and my father in law helped us in a yard sale by selling all of my svaed Christmas items. They were not supose to be sold but someone got a deal on the whole box! I was upset too.

I prefer real flowers, but for inside decorating I'd go with fake because of the cats. Not that I do that much decorating.

Hi Taryterre. I use both faux and real. Both work well. Susan
