SPRING AND FRESH FRUIT

Was excited to get out and about.Weather warmed up to 50 degrees. Got me in the mood for spring and some fresh fruit. I don’t get near enough in my diet during the winter months because the cost is prohibitive. But the truth is… I absolutely love fruit. Mangos, berries, watermelon…  you name it,  I probably like it. Everything except kiwi and honeydew melon. For some reason they don’t sit well with me. Don’t know why? Anyway, I was thrilled to catch a big sale on raspberries and blackberries, at the supermarket. Cartons were 5 for $5 or $1 a piece. I got ten. Well worth the price, in my humble opinion. I will eat a ramekin full, for breakfast every morning with my cauliflower. The perfect way to start the day. Do you love fresh fruit? Or hate it? My husband refuses to eat it under any circumstances.

I LOVE fresh fruit - any kind at all. And I really miss the wide variety that was available in California and Texas. It is very limited here in rural TN.

I can't eat citrus because it causes me to have a flare (tendonitis sort of symptoms) but I love berries and watermelon. I can't eat melons either.
We won't have fresh fruit here for quite a while yet. xo Diana

I love fresh fruit. Sounds like a real deal you got, but you can sure find a deal! I prefer Apples, Oranges, bananas and peaches. I did enjoy some good blue berry pies up in Maine, delicious.
I like to snack on fruit.
SWEET entry, enjoyed the visit to your home,

I love fresh fruit. Right now my mind goes toward oranges and grapefruit coming up from Florida. We saw truckloads being loaded up at the groves in florida when I was on vacation. Fresh just can't be beaten. The last is amazing. .You really got a deal. I've never seen any that cheap here. Usually berries are 2 for 5.

I love fresh fruit and figure the cost is worth it. However, I do let some slide and just eat less expensive fruit. No matter the cost, I will have a banana everyday. Alas, the doctor told me to cut way back on fiber due to gastroparesis.

Happy for you!
Yet, here I sit giggling …. wondering if you're my mother's REAL child. (LOL) I think she would have gladly eaten ONLY fruit every day of her life … while I'm like your hubby. The only exception, I occasionally enjoy grapefruit.

According to Stanford Medical, It is indeed the ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 19 KG lighter than we do.

(Just so you know, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with genetics or some secret exercise and absolutely EVERYTHING to do with "HOW" they are eating.)

BTW, I said "HOW", not "WHAT"...

Love, love, love fresh fruit. I sometimes marvel standing in Whole Foods at the array in front of me in the winter. My great-grandmother who died in 1935 could not have imagined such treasure in front of her. My favorites are peaches -- New Jersey has great orchards -- and cherries in the summer.

Oh, I love fresh fruit! It's funny cause honeydew melon and cantaloupe are not my favorites either. But I love blackberries, strawberries, peaches, you name it. $1 a carton is a good price. Like you, I don't eat fruit often enough during the Winter months, but when Summer rolls around, I can't get enough. : ) I'm glad you found a big sale on fruit, Taryterre.
