I eat OUI French
style yogurt. It’s a little more pricey than most yogurts on the market. But I
like the creamy taste and delicious flavors. I have grown accustomed to having
one in the morning, and another at night, before I go to bed. The problem is,
the yogurt comes in glass bottles and isn’t easily disposable. However, it is
the perfect size to use for dessert cups. Their labels come off effortlessly, so I’ve
been accumulating the cups in my cupboard for quite a while. But since I already have
dessert cups, these are beginning to take up space. My husband has started
to complain about them being in the way. We have no means to recycle here
because they closed down the facilities that used to do it. It was costing them
too much money. So I was left in a quandary. Nobody I knew, wanted the glass cups, and I
couldn’t bear to just throw them out. They
are substantial enough, for someone, somewhere to put them to good use. With the
pandemic raging, Goodwill and all the other local thrift stores have been
closed for months, and weren’t accepting donations. So that wasn’t an option
until recently. Goodwill is now back in business taking the things you have to
give. So I boxed up the OUI cups and packed them in shoe boxes. Then stacked
‘em up... in the back of the van, along with 4 bags of clothing that no longer
fits, and deposited everything with a volunteer at their drive-thru. It made me
feel good knowing... someone will discover these cute little cups on a shelf, in the weeks ahead... excited
by the notion, they found a hidden treasure. And it’s all because of the pleasure I have... eating this
delectable yogurt, and a company giving back to it's customers, with this special gift of glass dessert cups. It's a win-win for everybody. What brand of yogurt do you like?

I think many people understand the quandary. It is hard for a conservative person to just 'THROW AWAY' something useful. YOu found a good answer to the problem. They are cute and I can see many uses for them and I am sure someone will appreciate your efforts. Smart and good you had the patience to wait. ;-) many folks don't.
Sending love your way,
Sherry & jack
I love OUI, too. But, I no longer eat it. At Christmas people give these away on FB and i have seen them for sale on sale sites. I love those little cups/pots.
I'm not a fan of yogurt ... but adore these little cups. I think it's kind of sad that manufacturers have pretty much quit using glass packaging. Since I'm not crafty, not sure what I'd do with them, but I bet they're going to fly off Goodwill's shelves.
I've never seen OUI your here, but will look for it. Glad you were able to donate them to Goodwill. I'm sure there will be someone to appreciate them. Good will is a wonderful place to go. I always find a treasure or tow.
Oh, I've always wanted to try Oui Yogurt. I'm going to put that on my shopping list. Good 'ole Goodwill. When I left Northern Cal, I had a lot of stuff to give away, and they were still accepting donations, but not sure they are any more since many shops are closing again. You're right, it's a good feeling to give away things that we don't use, and those glass cups are cute. I'm sure someone will love them. I bet it was good to give away 4 bags of clothing that doesn't fit as well. : )

What a good idea to take them to Goodwill - I hope they find a good home.
I do wonder why they make them in glass tho.
I like lemon Chobani - has some peel in it.
They are cute! I've never tried Oui, but I will add them to my shopping list. I usually go with Greek yogurt and add peanut butter powder and cocoa.
I too am a yogurt fan, but like others have never tried this brand. Currently, I buy Chobani in the individual cup size vs. a large container. The packaging is not glass but small plastic cups which are rinsed and put in recycling. I think many people will find a use for the glass cups you donated and glad to see Goodwill is accepting donations.
