Vaccinated and Ready to Hug

Looks like this dreadful virus is getting tackled by the right stuff. More and more people are getting vaccinated. And the Covid case numbers are going down in alot of places. So that’s a good sign. Hopefully, by the end of this year, we should have a handle on it, variants and all. My hubby got his first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine, with a few side effects, a while back. Mostly he was just very fatigued. I got my first dose of the Moderna vaccine, more recently. Had a horrible headache and jab site was terribly sore. If that means the medicine is working, I can’t complain. I’m scheduled for the 2nd dose on March 22nd. Two weeks after that, we are entertaining the notion, to eat out in a restaurant, for the first time in over a year. And, my hubby wants to get his hair cut too. (Though I like the ponytail.) Of course, that will be AFTER we HUG our daughter and grandchildren. I’m bursting with excitement at the very thought. I’ve missed them so much. We will still be wearing masks out and about, everywhere else. And we will not be traveling out of state anytime soon. Still too many restrictions in place. On top of which, my hubby doesn’t trust hotels, at this point. Their ventilation systems and handling of bedspreads, blankets, sheets and pillows are troublesome. We could bring our own, but it’s too cumbersome. Our mobility is limited and lugging all that stuff, in and out, is too problematic. So sadly, this means no visits to my elderly mother, halfway across the country, until late into the fall. Our fingers are crossed we’ll get to see her by Thanksgiving. Something to look forward to for sure. Even though, we are very unhappy it couldn't be sooner. So how are you all doing? Have you gotten your OUCHIE from FAUCI? What are your plans
when the coast is clear?

I'm vaccinated and had no side affects at all. I do feel much safer and have enjoyed some hugs from the grandchildren. It's a wonderful feeling ! I cannot imagine why some people won't get it. It's proven safe and it gives us some hope for the future!.

Hey TT, enjoyed your enthusiasm. Hope it catches on. WE are glad for you guys, we are way down the list, but still doing well.
Oh yeah, and thanks for volunteering for the Mars trip! You are ready to go after March 22nd. LOL

Yippee! I'm so happy for you both, and appreciate knowing the side effects are minor. I've been bumped down the line from March 11 to May 26, but still keeping my eyes and ears open for other opportunities.
Having worked 15 years for a major hotel chain, I totally agree with your hubby's concerns. Let's put it this way ..... I wouldn't!

I'm three weeks out of the second shot. Had my haircut, pedicure and had dinner with friends who are all vaccinated, too. I'm beginning to think about getting on a plane again. So many friends I haven't seen! For the first time in eleven months spent some time this morning looking at airfares. Thanks, Science!

My husband and I got our second Pfizer shot a week ago. We had a sore arm, nothing more.

Neither one of has been vaccinated yet. I am waiting specifically to go to my allergist to wait for an hour afterwards. Tommy has an appointment for next month. I suppose we will eat with his cousin at Bright Star.

I'm very skeptical of vaccinations and never had one in my entire life. However, my immune system is completely shot and I DREAD being out in public places. I now wear a mask when I go shopping.

I hope you'll be able to eat in a restaurant soon and will be able to visit your family. Things seem to be improving...let's hope for the best! Big Hugs.

So glad to hear you got your first vaccine, Taryterre, and also your husband. It will be nice to see your daughter and grandchildren. It's still a bad time to travel for me, as I just took a long journey to my home in the mountains. I do hope you get to see your Mother in the Fall. That is something to look forward to. Yes, we still all must take precautions, and so smart of you to realize that. Everything is looking up at this time. : )

Yes, we completed our second shot this past weekend (Moderna) and the only side effect was a soreness at the injection sight . Like you, we are also looking forward to seeing family members and are planning to do that with an Easter weekend visit to RI, first time in 16 months! And, we hope by late spring to be able to travel and visit family in NJ and PA, but are not taking things in a rush. We have dined in restaurants and went for haircuts but look forward to being able to get out more as things improve which everyone hopes will be happening.
