Years ago… I
was told my arm had a ‘dead zone’ in it. It makes my arm weak in that particular
spot and I have trouble lifting things with it. Even picking up the covers at
night to pull up over my body is difficult. I’m in terrible pain. It has gotten
progressively worse over time. So my doctor recently sent me to physical
therapy to see if we could build up the strength in my arm and increase my
mobility. I go twice a week on Tuesdays
and Thursdays. My physical therapist and her assistant have given me a half a
dozen exercises to complete each time. And those exercises are harder to do
than they appear. I am hoping with time my arm will improve. Just a little is
better than not at all. Have you ever needed physical therapy and did it
ultimately help?

Wishing you the best with your therapy. I have had it on my back before and it didn't help but the problem did clear up on it's own after time and trying different remedies.
No-I have never had PT. I do hope that it helps you and gives you some increased mobility. Have a blessed Sunday- xo Diana
I have been fortunate it was never required. I have friends who have had success there. Hope you do, I know that is a PAIN (no pun intended!)
physio for my knee was no help, so went to Bowen lady which was a help.
I think for your arm that physical therapy would be beneficial. It might not help completely but - as you said - any improvement is better than nothing. I really hope you have success. It is hell having to live with any kind of constant pain.
I had physical therapy after a serious car accident when I was about 30. I hated the therapy and quit after only two weeks.
I'm so sorry you're having to experience this! A few years back I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder and referred to a physical therapist (aka, terrorist).
After a couple of weeks the $$$ grew too much so I asked them for one of their big rubber band-thingies and a list of exercises I could perform at home.
Yes, I have several times. Sometimes it helped and sometimes it did not. However, in your case it can keep you from becoming weaker even if it does not help a lot.
No I've never needed to see anyone for therapy, but know plenty that have. A friend had shoulder problems and went to therapy and found many exercises to do at home and it helped. Hoping and praying your's does to.
I'm sorry to hear you're in pain, Taryterre. And I do hope the physical therapy helps your arm. I think going twice a week is a good thing.

My joke at my local physical therapy office is that I have been there so often I should get frequent flyer miles. My last visits were for my broken shoulder and it was a big help. It's over a year and with physical therapy and yoga I've seen great improvement. Hope it's the same for you.
As you may remember from reading - I've had trouble with my arm - same things as you are mentioning - hurt to even lift over and reach a pillow, pull covers, reach for my phone, or even a coffee cup at times. He gave me anti-inflammatory meds but I decided not to take many of them. I did discover that exercise in the arm - helped not only to work the inflammation out but to help strengthen the muscle - stretching as high as I could in the air helped the most - anything to stretch those muscles. Sometimes the pain would float to my shoulder or back shoulder blade. A physical therapist friend worked on my arm for 15 minutes and worked it out once - so I really thing it was inflammation and weakening muscles. Since I've started getting more nutrients from vitamins, shakes, and that is helping so much. I've increased my protein as well since that helps build and repair muscle tissue. Avoiding foods that aid in inflammation: gluten, processed foods, vegetable oils, enriched flour, etc. Hope that helps.
Oh gosh, I am SO SORRY about your arm, Taryterre. Yes, I have had physical therapy on my leg when I fell once. It definitely helped. I hope and pray to God that in time, your arm will be better, too. Keep TELLING yourself, too, that it feels better. Wishing the best for you. And, by the way, thank you SO MUCH, for visiting my blog. I love your visits! Susan
I had physical therapy once for my back after an injury, and once for my neck after a car accident. It helped me a lot. I hope you get results from yours!
I hope your arm gets to feeling better. I think the physical therapy will help. Prayers for fast healing.

I hope the exercise does help - I have never heard of that - but I am not surprised. I had lost all my contacts - computer issue. I am glad to find you. I had you on Scooter Lady which I guess you don't do anymore.
I hope these exercises help you with your arm - my mom has a weak wrist and her exercises do help sometimes! :)

Dead zone? What caused it, do you know?
Yes, I've had physical therapy before.... about 5 years ago..... and no, it did not help. But I hope yours does. It certainly can't hurt anyway. Lovingly, Andrea xoxo

Hello Taryterre...
Always wonderful to see that you have stopped by my blog to visit. Thank you so much! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Susan
No, it did not help at all. You can at least keep it from getting worse, even if it does not get stronger.
