HEAD GEAR FOR THE DERBY

It's that time of year. I'm off to the races on Saturday, May 3rd... complete with a new Kentucky Derby Hat. I had a bit of fun finding the right one as you can see in the pictures below. I think I did a great job of picking it... considering what I had to work with here in town. And because I was able to improvise a bit, I can change the look of the one I bought by adding or not adding flowers of various colors. Do you like hats? Do you ever wear one?

I THINK THIS IS PERFECT
YOU CAN ADD ACCESSORIES
AND HERE I AM, READY TO GO

Great hat for the derby! You are right; the possibilities are endless to accessorize it! No, I'm not a hat wearer. I have a big head (but small brain, LOL) so its hard to get a hat to fit :)

Yep, good pick, lovely hat. My mama was partial to hats.

I always wear a hat, normally a Greek Fisherman's hat.
Have a good weekend..
Love from North Carolina

I love hats but don't wear them often. I love your choice. The derby is infamous for all the great hats there. Hope you have a super Saturday!

Oh good, you picked my favorite hat, Taryterre! The Derby sounds like a fun day. Yes, I love hats, but I don't wear them as much as I'd like to.

Have a great weekend, and thank you for your comment on my "Jesse' post today. It means so much to me and Nel.

love,

I wear a visor if I play golf...which I haven't in a while and if I ever spend a lot of time near water I might invest in a hat for by the pool or beach. Take care and have a great weekend, Sheila

Your hat is wonderful and you're perfectly attired for the races!
I'm a hat freak - - and here in Texas I'd feel naked without my cowboy hat.

I've noticed on Feedjit that one of your readers is from East Brunswick, New Jersey. I have loads of relatives there and, in fact, I was born there.

I love the hat you chose and it looks so nice on you. I like hats and have quite a few. I don't know why I don't wear them more. Have fun!

Great choice! The wheat and brown one gave you a cute, rakish look ... but the black/white is classic.
I, too, love hats ... particularly on poor hair days (more often than not)!

LOVE it! I'm a Derby girl ~ used to live in Louisville, and my momma makes us Derby Pie every year. Hope you enjoyed the festivities!

You and your hat choice are cute. I'm not a hat wearer, but when it gets to twenty degrees I do wear one in the interest of keeping my ears from frostbite.

I did nothing on Saturday but watch the Derby's stuff all day long. And..I am SO excited about California Chrome. Here's to all three races for him.

I haven't worn a hat on YEARS! You're making me want to go out and buy a new one now though!

You ROCK THE HATS!! You go girl and wear whatever makes you happy! I'm becoming more of a hat person myself ... I'm not a fan of the sun and I need the shade!
