FROZEN

I have avoided my favorite place in the whole world... all through November, December, January and February... because of the weather. I have missed the joy it brings me, so I decided a quick trip was in order, to see it again, despite the temps. So, bundled in my winter coat… off we headed to the LAKE for lunch. It was 30 degrees outside. Wind chill made it feel cooler. I’m convinced we are going straight from winter… into summer at some point, and skipping SPRING altogether… since it has yet to arrive. Couldn’t believe the lake is FROZEN, heading into Easter Sunday, but it is.  Apparently... all the local birds are still vacationing down south... because we did not see one. Later this week... it’s supposed to go up to 50, maybe 60 degrees here. I’m not holding my breath, though. Last week the weatherman said we’d only get flurries and we got three inches of snow. I want warm days, blue skies, flowers blooming and sun shining. And I'm going to throw a HISSY FIT until I get them. What about you?

I'm beginning to think winter will never end. We had a few days of spring, and now it's freezing again with sleet.

Perhaps if we all close our eyes and think warm thoughts......

It's cold here this morning as well...27°!! I had to move all my beautiful flowers inside!! I'm ready to get out there and enjoy the warmth, birds and flowers myself!!

I'm with you - throwing a hissy fit ! We had our family gathering for Easter yesterday and it was only the the 20's. Very little remains of the snow we had on Friday but still the little ones were freezing outside doing the egg hunt. Me too as I was out there taking pictures. Our forecast is for 40 degree weather here for us. At least that will be above freezing. Hopefully April will be a bit warmer.

Hope you REALLY get to enjoy that lake SOON! Don't want no Hissy FITS! LOL

I'll take it for a day or two. We are headed towards the 100's.

I had to pause for a moment and remember a time when being near the water had such a wonderful effect on me. (Now, it's the rugged mountains ... go figure!)

I think RoeH and I need to get together and blow some of our too-hot temps in a northwesterly direction. Either that, or let's start saving our nickles and dimes for a foreign-exchange program next year! :)

I feel for you guys still getting the wintery temps and snow! Time for winter to move on until next year! Can't complain here; yesterday 81, today 77.

Our air condition came on twice this afternoon. We'll be crying from the heat soon I'm sure.

Hopefully that was the last hurrah of winter and spring is around corner. We got down in the 20s Saturday night and 30s last night but the low 70s are coming this week. Take care and stay warm, Sheila

Oh dear Taryterre, you make me laugh sometimes. I do wish spring would come your way soon. I was just watering my roses in the back yard, and it's already 55 degrees this morning and getting warmer. Even though it's still very cold there, I think it's great that you took a drive to the lake and nothing would stop you from seeing one of your favorite places. It's so pretty even frozen.

Have a blessed Easter week, my friend.

love, ~Sheri

Oh, my! That even looks cold! It's in the 60's right now, but it's the first really nice day we've had so far. Maybe EVER, because I can't remember what warm weather feels like :) Hoping for a warm up for you. Don't want the Easter Bunny to freeze his little toes off!

We decided to skip winter altogether this year and have been in Arizona since early February. It's been an incredibly snow filled winter back home in Alberta. It was 96 here yesterday! We're heading home in a couple weeks. by then there shouldn't be a trace of ice and snow.

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog. I live in GA and we have had some 80 degree days recently but this a.m. it was 30! As a child, I often remember freezing in my new Easter outfit!
We are beginning to see a little green on the trees and the dogwoods are beginning to bud. I hope warm weather arrives for you soon! I've signed up to follow along. Take care and have a good evening.
