When I was a
small child... my parents and grandparents wanted me to go on a double Ferris Wheel
at the state fair. I loudly screamed and protested my disinterest. They couldn’t understand what was wrong with
me. But it stemmed from fear, pure and simple. I was scared of heights. Ferris
Wheels are pretty tall. I still get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach
when I see carnival rides. Especially the ones that fly high. Merry- go - Rounds
are more my speed. They are down to earth. And so is the cotton candy readily
available at such venues. This week a carnival came to town and I caught this
picture of the Ferris Wheel being put together. Notice the missing cars haven’t
been attached yet. In my mind they are better left undone, to disable them. Are
you scared of something that is seemingly innocent?

I used to love Farris Wheels. I loved looking out and seeing the world go by. Now heights of any kind tend to make me dizzy so I limit my self to what rides I can do. Antique cars can make my day ! Fair time is almost here in my part of the woods and I look forward to going. The food attracts me more than the rides for sure!
Ah but whether you like to ride or not, the Farris Wheel from a distance says FUN IS AROUND HERE! I love to see'em, not crazy about them but love to see them.
omg...i wouldn't go on one if someone held a gun to my head!
I don't like heights either. Scared to fly, yet it is safer than driving. I admire those who can do rides like ferris wheels, but it will not be me.

Don't remember ever having ridden on a Ferris wheel! (... no, I'm not anxious to start!)
Aside from airplanes, I'd have to say white linen and Saran Wrap.
No, no carnival rides for me.
I'd always been leary too, stemming from my parents always being leary. Then, not long into adulthood, I developed hypertension and all those types of rides are out for us who are plagued. Seeing what happened last week at the Ohio State Fair, I'm not lamenting my rideless past.
Blessings upon your week, Andrea xoxo
The ferris wheel is such a great ride, but as I get older, I don't care for it as much. Like you, the merry-go-round suits me fine. : ) I'm not that afraid of heights, but the ferris wheel stops right in the air sometimes, and then dangles, Yikes! That's fun that you went to the carnival though and took some pictures. I've been wanting to go to the county fair - it's been awhile since I've been there. The cotton candy sounds like a nice treat.

I loved ferris wheels when I was young, but somewhere along the way I grew afraid of heights. Then motion sickness set in, so I can't handle much of anything that moves. Even watching a merry-go-round makes me dizzy. But! I can still eat cotton candy and I love the food found at carnivals and state fairs! :)
I'm not a fan of fair rides either. I'm not sure if it's true, something he just believes to be true, or made up entirely so we didn't ask to go to the fair, but my dad always told us they weren't safe. He said that being taken apart and reassembled so many times damaged them and basically convinced us that fair rides were a quick way to a horrible death.
I love to see'em, not crazy about them but love to see them.
