I make no
apologies for the fact I love water and being around the ocean or a lake really
floats my boat. I hate being landlocked. I will
go out of my way to find a new beach or body of water to explore whenever the opportunity
presents itself. Recently it did. We went on a mini vacation to the Heartland to a lake
we’ve never been to before. It was in quite a nice Ohio State Park .
We heard about it because every July they have a big country western concert
there featuring popular stars, like Blake Shelton and Little Big Town. It is a hit with the local yokels and out-of-towners
flock from miles around to attend. Though
there was no music playing the weekend we went, a fun time was had by my hubby
and myself. I saw a baby heron. That made my day. Unfortunately couldn’t get a
picture, try as I might. We love seeing all the wildlife, campers, boats and
people… out and about. But mostly we love the boats. Nothing like being in a
pontoon boat out in the middle of a nice lake to explore the sights. Have you
ever been boating? Do you like it?

I've lived in the same small town my whole life and there's an abundance of lakes around me, including Lake Michigan. I've never particularly liked the water and my parents never took me to the beach. I wonder if because my parents weren't "water people" then I'm not either? I do know lots of folks venture here during the year to see and partake in the water but it's just not my bag. I'm so happy you got to take a little excursion with your hubby to get your "water fix". :-) xoxo
Our Ohio State parks are beautiful and I have visited a lot of them. I'm blessed to be about a 30 minute ride from Lake Erie and the beach is and always has been my favorite place to be. I have been out on a boat but truly the beach is where I'm happiest. Glad you could get away and enjoy the water !
We love boats. Have had pontoon and the little Bass Hound with electric motor. Our most fun boat was a fold-a-boat we had for years carried on our motor home. We are boatless now, but looking for a small Jon boat for our Florida place.
YES being on and around water is a biggie with us!
So happy to hear you and your hubs were able to get away!
Yes, I love being on the water ... the ocean, in particular. I've never owned/operated a small boat or been on a pontoon before. That looks like such fun!
What a nice day at the lake with your husband, Taryterre. I don't remember the last time I went on a boat ride, it sounds like fun. I bet you smiled when you saw the baby Heron. So glad you got to see the water again, Taryterre. Lakes are so pretty and peaceful.
love, ~Sheri
There's something extremely emotionally satisfying about being near water (as long as it's not a flood). I never realized how much I missed the ocean until I moved to West Texas. It was extremely disconcerting to be surrounded by hundreds of miles of dry land.
At least there are rivers and streams here in TN - and PLENTY of rain.....
Looked like a nice mini getaway you and your hubby had! I would have enjoyed looking at the boats myself. I've been in a few boats, not small ones, harbor cruises, whale spotting, etc. I prefer to look at the body of water rather than be on the body of water :) I'm landlocked now and the worst part of it is trying to figure direction. When I lived close to ocean, I always know where west was :)

I've never been boating, but I love going to the beach.
I have been boating but don't really care for it. However I do like being near the water and always wanted to live near it with a deck out on to it to sit.
You and I are alike here. I love to be around bodies of water. I love boats and anything nautical. I would love to wake up each morning listening to ripples of water.

I enjoy going out on a boat; mostly we fish when we take a boat out. What I really enjoy doing is canoeing on a nice lake or down a pretty creek or river.
Oh Taryterre, that sounded like a dreamy outing----out on the water with hubs. Lovely. And that ferris wheel? Others can have it. I'm petrified of heights, too. The froggie was cute! Thanks for your faithful visits. Love them. Susan p.s. Hope you have a super weekend.
Glad you could get away and enjoy the water !
