ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK

I made sure I had lots of quarters... when I went out to leisurely sip an ice tea... inside one of my favorite local eateries.  The place is a throw back to the 50's and 60's. It has a juke box. So I could deposit a quarter, select a song... and listen to all those oldies but goodies from my youth. The music took me away from the heat outside. And I was able to live in the past for a while, gently tapping my feet to the music. It was delightful and made for a happy afternoon with wonderful memories. The only thing missing was a dance partner or someone to share it with.

I love the old songs and rarely know any new ones. As far as music goes, I'm stuck in the past.

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself any way. Don't those oldies stir up memories? Thank you again for your prayers and thoughts for us.

Oh girl to be able to go back one night to the Bulldog Snack Shack and dance to the tunes of the nickelodeum in the 50's.

One of the ol' sportsmen's clubs in our town has an old juke box in it's basement where you can stick in a quarter yet and hear the oldies. I overheard one of the guys from the club saying that he thinks the club is thinking about selling it. So now it's on my wish list:)

We never learned to dance, but I sure remember the songs, and yes, it is so much fun just to cruise back in your mind...

Oh Taryterre, how did you know that I LOVE THE OLDIES!! What a fun place this looks like. I just love 50's diners - the music, the food, the atmosphere, everything about them. Wish I lived closer, and we would go have a glass of iced tea and listen to those oldies together.

Love,
~Sheri

Oh, that place sounds like fun. I bet they serve pie. No one serves pie around here anymore!

What a neat place! When I was visiting my Aunt in TX a few yrs ago, she took us to a little 50's diner that had the little mini juke boxes on the tables, I fell in love with the place. I'm glad that you had a great time there! Great post!
