A NEW TWIST ON AN OLD THING

PRETZEL BURGERS are all the rage here. Seems EVERYBODY has tried one, but us. The hubby and I had been resisting the fad for any number of reasons. But we finally decided resistance was futile when we got a coupon for half off. So to see what the big deal was all about... we ordered a couple. I would like to say we were pleasantly surprised... but we weren't. We'll concede the pretzel dough used to make the buns was a novel idea. But truth be told they were too salty. We both expected as much. Otherwise... they tasted just like a regular burger. What was all the buzz surrounding them about? Seriously. In our humble opinion, PRETZEL BURGERS are highly overrated. And at $9.99 or $10.99 depending on your toppings, they're kind of expensive too. Have you had one???

No, in fact I haven't heard of them but then I guess I kinda live under a rock. lol I don't care for pretzels so I probably wouldn't even try them. Thanks for letting us in on your opinion of them.

I have had prime rib on a pretzel roll, but not a burger. I loved the sandwich I tried, but this came from the little gourmet bistro place Walker and I favor and we've never had a meal there we didn't love ~

I've seen them advertised too but no, haven't had one. I'm glad you gave us some insight to how they are now I won't waste the money to try one myself. It is nice though that people with some good imagination keep giving us some variety to choose from.

I haven't heard of them yet. Thanks for the heads up...I think I'll pass if I ever run into one. They just don't sound that good to me.

I've heard of those pretzel bun burgers but they didn't seem very appealing to me. Your post has confirmed my skepticism.

I live under a rock, never heard of them, but we avoid burgers most of the time, but we do spurge and get a good burger once a month.

the name really does not tempt me.

I would like to find a good burger like WHAT A BURGER made many moos ago....... Interesting idea though, pretzel burger.

I haven't heard of pretzel burgers (but then I don't get out much, LOL). They do seem like something I would have to try at least once though; thanks for your review on them :)

I haven't had one. Our son tried one somewhere and liked it okay. I really don't think I'll bother with it.

I've had one but am not tempted to have another. I found the bun too dense and chewy for a burger.

Haven't had the pretzel burger, but a couple of years ago I tried a pretzel hotdog. It tasted OK, but I you needed the teeth of of camel to bite through the thick dense bread. My dentist thought they sounded like they would be a money maker for his business.
I don't think the pretzel bun fad will last too long. My sister had the burger and said other than the dark curst on the top of the bun, it didn't taste much different a regular bun. Now, if someone makes a beer bread bun or a pumpkin bun, count me in.
