A good time to reflect on those who gave their lives for our freedoms. I always want to go to the events of the day to honor them but I always seem to end up working Memorial Day. Hope to do so one day.

Perhaps more so than any other, Memorial Day is so humbling.
I hope to visit the Wall someday; Arlington as well, and Ft. Snelling where my parents' remains are interred. We've so much for which to be grateful, it boggles the mind!
How wonderful that you've chosen to call it Decoration Day. I haven't heard that for a long time. I also love the quotes that you've used.
