Power came
back on. So I packed up my stuff at the motel and came home. Now I have to go
through the refrigerator and take out what spoiled.
This is our anniversary weekend. So before
this all happened we ordered half a bushel of steamed crabs to celebrate.
Late
this afternoon they arrived, from the Eastern Shore in Maryland packed in a big styrofoam box
loaded with cold gelpaks. So I have to make room for them in the fridge after I
count them and dispose of the bad stuff, ruined from the storm. Want to make
sure we weren't shorted. Especially since most of our grocery bill went to the
crabs this week, not knowing we were going to have this other expense of having
to replace things. BLAME IT on Mother
Nature and her wrath. It could have been so much worse. So we can't complain.
You never know when she will strike. At least a taste of home will help us
forget. And now we have an anniversary to enjoy!

thank god the crabs were not in the freezer! happy anniversary! where did you order the crabs from?
It's called THE CRAB PLACE. It's online from Maryland. They are shipped from the dock to your door. We tried a couple other places throughout the years but never got the same service so we've stuck with these guys.
Happy Anniversary and thankful to God that you are well, back home, and can celebrate.
Hey, I'm glad to hear that your power has been restored. The crabs arrived with perfect timing!
I hope you'll be able to salvage some things from the refrigerator.
Have a great anniversary!
Happy Anniversary! I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you ~
Happy Anniversary! So glad you're back at home. I waited out Hurricane Sandy at the Howard Johnson's near the office, so this is familiar to me. Enjoy your yummy anniversary dinner.
Happy anniversary!
I am so sorry about the power going out and your fridge stuff going bad. My fridge went out 2 weeks ago and everything in the freezer and fridge had to be thrown out. I just restocked it and cleaned it all out and it was a tad bit annoying and expensive.
Love me some crab!!
Happy Anniversary! I'm glad you were able to come home in time to celebrate.
It is good to hear you are back home again. With the terrible cost of groceries it's too bad you lost so much. Hope you do have a happy Anniversary though and enjoy those crabs!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! It is good you can put the loss in perspective. Yes mother nature does not play favorites.
Hope you have a great time celebrating.

Power outages are no fun! Hopefully you won't have to replace much in your fridge....just throw out the leftovers, haha! Enjoy your crabs and Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary and enjoy the crabs. We are coming up on our's the 26th.
Life is just one adventure after another isn't it. Have a wonderful, if somewhat crabby, anniversary. Congratulations.
Happy Anniversary!
Glad the crabs were delivered after your power was restored.
It's a bummer to throw away all that food and replace it. Just glad you are safe.
Happy anniversary, glad your home x
Oh no, Taryterre, it's no fun to have a power shortage. That's good that you got to go to the hotel. I haven't had crab in such a long time. Crab and lobster is the only fish I will eat.
Happy Anniversary, dear.
Love,
~Sheri
Ooops, I meant motel. :~)

Hope your anniversary was great! Even when we lost food in our refrigerator with a power outage, it did not make me happy at all - - - but it happened after we had a basement wall collapse and the basement flooded so that made it seem not so bad. But a DEFINITE inconvenience in time and money!
