A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

I could go shopping at the mall for NEW things. But in my spare time I like to explore antique stores. I always delight in the things you can find there amongst the clutter. Sadly, many of the items I see are more than a little familiar at my age. And to be candid I am surprised to hear them called antiques.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND?
A CHANGE OF CLOTHING, PERHAPS.

HOW ABOUT A CAMERA
OR TIMEPIECE?

THIS HAS GONE TO THE DOGS
POODLES, ANYONE?

MAYBE SOME PAPERWEIGHTS OR VASES?

 CUPS AND SAUCERS

  ORNAMENTAL GLASS

TABLES AND CHAIRS

A GOOD OLD FASHIONED TYPEWRITER
TO PEN A LETTER OR WRITE A BLOG

A SEWING MACHINE TO MAKE SOME CLOTHES

 AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
 THIS CONTRAPTION
TO ADD UP THE COST OF ALL THESE THINGS
IN TODAY'S WORLD.

I love to haunt antique stores. And sadly, you're right. A lot of the things that I remember are now "antiques".

I'd hate to think that I'm an antique.....

I think it is fun to visit these stores as it always brings back a good memory. I am not past buying something either!

I love browsing in these stores! I stopped by an antique/flea market yesterday. Yours looks like it had way more interesting stuff! I didn't see any Superman outfits. :)

I always find it hard not to buy some of the 'antiques' that used to adorn my family home when I was young. I'm the only antique in my home now :)

That tune is sang by too many of us and our peers:"That cannot be an antique I used one of those!"

(smile for truth)

But memory lane is fun!

I do like going to the resale stores in our area. Last month, I found two wooden chairs for a ridiculously low amount of money. Fun stuff to do.

Count me in on this type of store. I see many things that I have disposed of and wish I had not.

I remember that Underwood typewriter and my daughter would love that collection of old cameras.

And, my mother had one of those old Singer Sewing Machines. My sister has it now. It was a beauty with the foot pedal. I made all my clothes on that machine when in high school

Oooo, the cameras caught my eye, and Nel would love the watches, as she is into watches and clocks. I have always wanted one of those doll heads! And who doesn't love a new tea cup once in awhile?

Antique stores are fun. That typewriter is something else!

Love,

I rarely go to the mall. I'm like you, the antique places and the thrift stores are way more fun!

I love strolling through little antique stores, I will take that over a mall any day! I think I get it from my Mom and Aunts. Anytime we would go on vacations or out of town we would always find little stores like this to wander through.
